For the group of engineer parents who found themselves working from home since 2020, simultaneously juggling the roles of caretaker and educator for their children unable to attend school or kindergarten, the burden has been heavy, the responsibilities immense. Yet, day after day, on this journey of parenthood, we reminisce about the freedoms of yesteryears while striving to strike a balance between work and home.
Fueled by boundless imagination and creativity, we tirelessly innovate, driven by a core belief in creating products that resonate with the needs of parents. Thus, we have developed and crafted this educational toy, a beacon of both learning and comfort for our little ones.
About a Toy from 40 Years Ago...
In my cherished childhood memories, my father was a simple, quiet man. We didn't have much back then, and as the second child, I rarely had toys or new clothes of my own. But every time my father returned from one of his rare trips abroad, he brought back treasures from distant lands. Among them was a projector and a collection of slides—a magical assortment that included timeless fairy tales, enchanting glimpses of amazing theme park, and even images of the moon's surface captured by space agency. I would spend hours lost in those images, transported to far-off worlds beyond my reach. Fast forward twenty years, and I find myself well into my forties, having spent over two decades in the tech industry. But it wasn't until the pandemic hit in 2020 that I truly realized the value of family. Forced to stay home, surrounded by my wife and daughter, I found myself reflecting on the past.
During a visit to my childhood home in Taipei, I stumbled upon that same old projector—still intact after all these years. Opening it up, I was greeted by the familiar scent of dust and memories. We cleaned it off and introduced it to our daughter, her eyes wide with wonder as she peered through the lens—a sight that instantly brought back memories of my own childhood. Though my father passed away from cancer a decade ago, his love and warmth remain with me always. In that moment with my daughter, I felt a deep connection—a reminder of the enduring legacy of family and the importance of cherishing every moment.
Inspired by this experience and driven by my love for my father, I set out to create CubieLand—a tribute to him and a gift to my daughter. This innovative toy blends childhood wonder with modern technology, allowing families to create cherished memories together.
